Lady Islington, wife of His Excellency the Governor, arrived at Wellington yesterday, and was accorded a hearty welcome
The großs estate of Colonel Percival Browne, ot Mount Gambier, has been sworn at £102,278, and the personalty at £44,195. Mr Cecil Little, who had been in the insurance department of Messrs W. M. Bannatyne and Co.'a business for several yearß,? died at the Thorndor. Private Hospital, Davis Street. Wellington, early yesterday morning. Mr R. Hollis, a member of the Labour Party in the N.S.W. Parliament, and hon. secretary of the Locomotive Association of Australasia, is coming to New Zealand to assist the New Zealand Locomotive Association in perfecting their organisation. The death is' announced of the Very Rev. Father Walsh, who had laboured faithfully in the Otago and Southland diocese for a period of 37 years. He arrived in New Zealand a young m«n, who had been just three years in the priesthood, in 1873, and was stationed in Central Otago.
