PAHIATUA RACING CLUB.
The following report; will be pre- J 1 ssnted at the annuil § meeting of j I members of the Pahiatua Racing I Club, to be held on August 30th:—In presenting their annua! report jour I committee regret that owing to unforseen circumstances they cannot place aa good a balance sheet as usual before you. The committee I were in the unfortunate position of having to alter the dates for the annual race meeting, and also bad weather for it, the result being a marked decrease in nominations and acceptance fees, totalisator and gate receipts, though the fees from the bookmakers show an increase of £7l, and the members' subscriptions also show an increase of £4. In the face of the above your committee have > kept down expenses as much as possible, tb.3 total expenditure being £'6ls less than last year. As the Club had had a bad year, your committee circularised the debenture holders asking them if they would allow their debentures to stand over till 1911. All the debenture holders were agreeable to this with the exception of two, who were leaving the Dom'.nion. These two were-paid off, reducing the amount owing on debentures from £3BO to £360. The use of the Club's property has been granted to the A. aand P. Association at a nominal rental, and permission given them to plough a piece in front of the grandstand at their own cost. Ihe usual course has been followed of writing off heavily for depreciation though the value of, the Club's property has been fully : maintained. On'the whole the Club's position is satisfactory and with a good race meeting next year your committee trust that the Club will make good the ground lost last setson. The farm account shows a pro- ■ tit on the year's working of £ll 18s 7d, which is very satisfactory. In accordance witn the ..rules all the honorary officials retire but are eligible for re-election. TARATAHI-CARTERTON RACING 'JLUB. A meeting of stewards of the Taratahi-Carterton Racing Club waE held on Saturday last, Mr G. W. Deller presiding. Mr R. G.
