RINKING IN TOWN HALL.
To the Editor. Sir, —Much surprise is expressed at the' Town Hall, 'Masterton, he irjr let for a Skating Carnival, iht si imposition being that it will be detrimental to the floor for dancing purposes. I can assure those iiuerasud that there need not be any apprehension on that score as;l-have inspected the floor which I find is uf first-clans heart of rnatai, s.nd roller skates will not have the slights*! effect upon it comparatively. In support of my contention, itt any one visit my Hall in Carter.on an;} they will see very slight impression it bas made upon the floor after six seasons" of rinking, and especially at the present time. As a matter - of fact the floor thui might do for dancing vsould not do for skating, as it must be perfect for that for skating, as it must be perfect for that fascinating pastime, 'l'hanking you in anticipation —I am, etc., W. J. BERRILL.
