PERSONAL.

Mr Charles A. Wilson, evangelist, of the Church of Christ, Newtown, died on Sunday. Mr J. Lomas, Chief Inspector of Factories' Department of Labour, is paying an official visit to Masterton to-day. Mr James Muir, of the firm of jog and Muir, tailors, of Wellington, died suddenly in Ashburtoii on Sunday from heart disease. Mr J. Farrel', reresentirg J. C. Williamson, Ltd., arrived in Masterton yesterday to complete arrangements for the production of the pantomime "Aladdin," His Excellency the Governor, Lord Islington, is confined to his house with a severe cold, and the whole of his engagements have been cancelled. Mr J. Gunther, formerly a farmer in this district and the Forty Mile Bush, hut now a land agent at Opotiki. Bay of Plenty, is at present a visitor to Masterton. The death occuned at tha Masterton Hospital last evening of Mrs Jacobsen, wife of Mr J. K. Jacobsen, of Mauricevilie. The deceased lady, who had been ailing for some time, had attained the ripe age of 72 years, and'was one of the pioneer settlers of Mauricevilie. Much sympathy will be extended to the family in their sad bereavement. The funeral will leave the Hospital for the Mauricevilie Cemetery at halfpast twelve to-morrow, Wednesday.
