AMUSEMENTS.
TOWN HALL PICTURES.
A large number attended the change of programme at the Town Hall Pictures last night. A very amusing animal study depicts a monkey showman in Egypt. A beautiful coloured film takes us to the Jand of the Mikado, and shows the natives of Japan rice-growing. Glimpses of bird life, by Pathe Freres, shows innumerable kinds of birds in their native element. This is a highly educational film. The dramatic films provided another treat. "Dr Phantom," a detective story; "The Orange Grower's Daughter," and the 'star' film, "On the Border Line." were highly appreciated. The comics were up to the usual standard, "A Rich Revenge, " the American biograph's latest, being an especially fine piece «f cinematographic art. "A Deal in Broken China," "The Man who Couldn't Laugh," and "A Short Sighted Duelist," brought to a close an entertainment of first-class order.
