The Carterton Gun Club intend jßring a' clay bird sweep in three weeks' time for a stake of £lO, ,div ided into three prizes. The health of Mr Coleman Phillips is improving, and he was able to take a motor drive yesterday. Mr D. <<T. King, builder, has commenced the erection of a. residence for Mr J. Rains,, at South CarterI»B. ■•■■'• Among the singers at the forthcoming Catholic concert here will be Miss O'Brien (Martinborough), Miss O'Dohoyan (Featherston), and Messrs H. Hall and Hunn, of Masterton. Mr G. Williams has been elected a member of the Belvedere School Committee. It has been decided to hold a euchre party and dance in the School on September 2nd, on which day t the school breaks wp for the* term holidays;
