A COMPLAINT.

To the Editor.

Sir,—Permit me space in your valuable columns to say a few words as to a grievance the carters suffer from in the Borough of Mastsrton. We were called upon -to pay a license of 20s per .annum, which was cheerfully paid, carters in the district understanding that they would be protected against those who did not pay the license; but to our sorrow —we receive no suoh protection, as the unlicensed vehicles are plying for hire and seriously interfering with our livelihood. Perhaps the Borough authorities will take this hint to give us redress.—l am, etc., A LICENSED CARTER.
