WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKIN SALES.
Messrs Levin and Co., Dalgety and Co., Abraham and Williams, and the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile report as follows regarding Friday's sale —
Wool. —Sold generally on a par with recent prices, with crutchings in better demand. We quote—Fine crossbred, 8d to B£d; coarse crossbred, 6£d to 7|id; lambs wool, 6|d to 8d; pieces and bellies, 4d to sd; locks, 2Ad tc 4£d; crutchings, 4d to 6Jd.
Skins.—Dry skins show a rise of a farthing per lb, while green skins were in good demand at better prices. We quote—Fins crossbreds, 8d to Bfd; medium crossbreds, 7d to 3d; coarse crossbreds, 6d to 7Ad ; dead hoggets, 5d to 61d; lamb skins, s|d to 7|d; quarter to half wools, 4|d to 62d; dry pelts, 2|d to s£d; green skins, 5s 8d to 7s lid; lamb skina, 2s Gd to 43 9d. Tallow.— Was slightly easier. Parcels in shipping order,j£27 15s. "Tins, £2O to £22 10a; rough fat, £lO to £l6. Horsehair.—ls to Is 8d per lb. ' Horns, 5s to 15s per hundred; cowtail, Is 6d per dozen. | Hides.—Were difficult to sell, exI cept at a reduction of £d to £d per | lb. Calfskins were also lower and recent high values cannot be obt ined at present. We quote.—Ox hides, I heavy, 6Jd to 6fd; ox hides,[medium, 6£dto6£d; ox hides, light, s|d to 6d; cowhides, sid to 6d; cut and slippy hides, 3d tosJd; stag hides, : 4d to s£d; bull hides. 4d tos§d; yearlings, 5d to s?d; calf, best, 9d to 9£d; calf, medium, 7£d to B|d; calf, cut and slippy, scl to 6|d. Our next sals will be held on Friday, I Augudt 26th, 1910.
STOCK MARKET. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report having held a most successful sale of dairy stock, sheep, implements, etc., on behalf o± Mr A. Judd at his farm at Marima, an 12th instant,- There was an exceptionally large attendance of farmers, and the stock offered was all of good quality. Bidding was spirited for everything offered, and consequently good values The cows were well forward in calf, and a number showed a strain of Jersey, the highest price realised being £l2 ss, iJarring two cows, which were unsound, the whole herd of 37 cows madej the good average of £8 17s. Two-year heifers [in calf, £5 ss; to £6 Iss; yearling heifers, £3 Is; Jersey bull, £l2 ss; ewes in lamb, 15s 6d; wethers, 14s Gd; hoggets, 12s; sows in pig, £3 15s to £5 7s 6d; store pigs, 12s Sd to 27a; unbroken horse 3, £9 5s to £l3 10s; aged harness horses, £4 5s to £7 15s. I/The implements all made good values, as also did the sundries, etc. We would call the attention of dairymen to a sale we are conducting at Kumeroa on Friday, 19th instant, when we are selling, on behalf of Mr George Bailey, 27 high-classs dair"y cows, August and September calvers; also all his live stock, implements, furniture, etc.
