WAIRARAPA v. WELLINGTON SCHOOLS.

The Wairarapa schoolboys defeated the Wellington schoolboys on Saturday by five points to nil. Wairarapa's score was a converted try obtained just on the call of time. (This is the eighteenth time these two teams have met in their annual match held alternately at Wellington and in the Wairarapa. The Wellington boys were successful in the first thirteen matches, hut in the last five Wairarapa has been victorious. Owing to Ryan acd Wilson being unable to accompany the rep. team t) Auckland, Brace (St. James) and Walshe (Poneke) were selected to fill the vacancies. To-day, however, Walshe notified the selectors that be would be unable to travel, and E. Roberts (St. James) will now make the trip. Tilyard (Poneke) has been unable to obtain the necessary leave of absence, and a further selection will be necessary.

MaNAWA'X v. HOROWHENUA. By Telegraph—Press Association. PALMERSTON N., Last Night, Horowhenua A team defeated Manawatu A by 11' points to 8 after an extremely brilliant gams at Levin. Horowhenua, with a number of members of the late Maori team, put up a splendid game, but Manawatu played in great style and had the best of the game.

At Palmerston, Horowhenua B played Manawatu B, when Manawatu won by 31 points to 6, after an extremely fast and open game.

Mayer have selected the following team to represent Wellington in the Brown Shield (Association) match Otago v. Wellington, to be played on Saturday:—Goal, C. Webster; backs, W. Roberts, P. Cornish, M. Kirschberg; halves, J. Bradbury, W. Jackson, H. Smallbone; forwards, C. Vessey, W. Gibson, A. Mouat, E. Timperley.
