STOCK MARKET. The New Zealand Loan and Mer cantile Agency Company, Ltd,, report at their fortnightly stock sale at the Waipoua yards yesterday:We offered a fair average yarding in sheep for the moat part the class was inferior, and consequently hard to quit, although at the close of the sale only one pen of aged ewes went out unsold. In mutton we offered both wethers and ewes, and in both rases they failed to reach owners' leserves. In cattle the cntriea were principally dairy stock of all ages and grades,, all nice quality cows and heifers coming to profit fuund a ready market at sound rates, but aged and backward sorts had to be dealt with privately at reduced rates aod a total clearance made. A few pens of calves and yearling 3 >3old readily. In ewet. in lamb apen of s.m. ewes made 12s 6d, others at the aged type from 8s 6d to lis Gd; best Down cross hoggets,. 10*j 3d; others> small, 6s lid to 7d 7d. In dairy cows, profitable sorts realised £5 to £5 12s 6d; aged or backward, £4 to £4 to £4 10s in good condition, £3; poor sorts, 30s; springing heifers, 60s to 100s; good yearling steers, £2 10s; good calves, 35s to 425. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd, report having held their usual sale at their Masterton yards yesterday, when stock came forward well up to advertised numbers, and competition was fairly keen throughout the sale. They quote as follows—Fat ewes, 12s 6d:, ewes in lamb, lis 3d, 12s to 13s Id; 2-year steers, £3 10s; 2 and 3year steers, to £4 10s; 2-year heifers £2 163; yearling heifers, £2 3s; cows in calf, £3 12s 63, £4 159, £6 53; heifer in calf, £3 6a.
JOHNSONVILLE STOCK SALE. By Telegraph—Special to Age. JOHNSONVILLE, August 1.0. Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Johnaonville sale as follows:—We offered a good entry of prime cattle and sheep, which sold readily at late rates. Pnme heavy ox, £9 17s 6d to £lO ss; medium ox, £8 15s to £9 10s; light, £B ! 2s 6d; prime heifers, £7 10s to £7 12s 6d; extra prime wethers, 21s 8d; prime wethers, 193 4d to £1; good ewes, 17s 6d to ißs Id; prime lambs, 12s 9d to 13s 6d. Pigs, sold on behalf of Mr Monk, realised the following prices:—Breeding sows from 50s to £5; porkers, 19s to 23s 6d; slips, 7s to 13s 6d. Spring cart mare, £5.
