THOMPSON-PAYNE PICTURES.

At the Foresters' Hall this evening, Mescrs Thompson and Payne are presenting an entirely new series-of pictures. One of ,tne "star" sub* jects will be "Ransom's Folly," a ; special adaptation of Richard Harding's famous book. A picture that should prove interesting will be "Craters and Volcanoes in the Oceanic." A good naval study is provided in "The Port of Toulon." Football enthusiasts will be catered tor, by a film depicting "The Final Cup Tie between Newcastle and Burosley," in England. The new' series iB .. exceptionally strorg in comic subjects. The usual children's matinee will take place on Saturday afternoon. The winners of the last matinee prizes are—Over ten, Maggie Wilson, Upper Plain;,under ten, I Roy Schroff.

i TOWN H*LL PICTURES.

The new programme presented at the Town Hall last evenirg created a most favourable impression It waa unique, not only for the momentous character of the films, but on account of the exceptionally good light thrown upoa the screen. The motive power has been increased to such an extent that the light projected is, particularly brilliant. The picture | describing the first aeroplane flight made in Australia was watched with keen interest, as were also the various'dramatic and tropical numbers. The description of a trip from Marseilles tb Algiers was hifihty instrurtive and entertaining. The whole of the comic items were of an amusing character, and the audience was at times convulsed in laughter. The programme will be repeated to night. The proprietary wish it known that nominations for the children's competition will absolutely close on Saturday next.
