MASTERTON COUNTY COUNCIL.
MONTHLY MEETING, The monthly meeting of the Mastsrton County Council was held yesterday afternon, there being present —Crs W. J. Welch, chairman, R. F. K. Beetham, A. Murray, J. Miller, D. J. Cameron, D. Foreman, C. Kebbell. Leave of absenca was granted to Cr. Morr is. . On the motion of Cr. Foreman, it was dscided to take no action in connection with a further letter from Mr J. C. Cavanagh with reference to a culvert which he complained caused the flooding of his land. Mr James C. Wrigley, of Taueru, wrote suggesting that all grants on county roads be removed. It was decided to inform Mr Wrigley that the Council had the matter under consideration. The District Engineer wrote stating that the plans of the Manganvi bridge had been approved subject to certain minor alterations. A deputation from the Lansdowne Water Supply Committee waited on the Council in reference to regulating the supply of the Waipipi river, and asked the County Engineer to visit the locality and report on the matter. The latter request was granted, and the Committee were advised to approach Mr Williams in connection with the regulating of the water on the Waipipi river. It was decided to forward papers to tha ratepayers of the Alfredton Riding asking them to vote a staight out "Wo" or "Yes" on the proposed amalgamation of the riding viiih the Eketahcna County.
