As a result of the strike of slaughtermen at Glebe Island, several master butchers worked at the abattoirs yesterday. One stated that if be had been wurking under the proposed piece rates, which the men object to, he would have earned five shillings an hour. The men are quiet, but determined, GREAT STRIKE IN NEW YORK. TAILORS AND CLOAKMAKERS. A NOVEL INJUNCTION. Received August 9, 10 20 p.m. NEW YORK, August 9. Seven thousand cloakmakers have struck. Many blacklegs from Chicago are working under police protection. 'I he emphyers rely on the Supreme Court's injunction granted on Saturday forbidding intimidation. The Cuurt ordered the strikers to show cause why the injunction should net be made permanent, as the alrike was an illegal attempt uf the y/orkmii! to establish an industrial monody i/riksrs denounce the novel injunction. Twenty-one. thousand tailors are striking in New York. \
