Some of the friends of Crippen, under arrest for the alleged murder of his wife at Camden Road, London, have instructed Mr A 'thur Newton, the well-known London lawyer, to defend him in London.
A DENIAL. Received August 4, 11.40 p.m. OTTAWA, August 4. Le Neve has cabled to her sister that she had seen or heard nothing until the cruel blow fell. Inspector Dew denies that Crippen has confessed.
