King, a local builder, has been entrusted with the joinery work, (|in the form of doors and window sashes, for Callister's handsome brick building in High Street. iThe lads attending the Hikurangi Maori College at Clareville, have been returning this week from their holidays. Owing to the far distances which some of the young fellows live, it takes a little time for them to get back, and it will be really next week before the work of the College is in full swing. A confirm* ation service is to be held at the College near the end of the year. The Borough Council has had a lamp erected half-way u down Broadway, an improvement which has been required sPnce the street was formed. There are other side streets in the Borough which could also do with a lamp or two, and no doubt will receive attention when the funds of the Borough permit expenditure in this direction.
