STOCK MARKET.
Messrs'Dalgety and Co,, Ltd., report having held a Clearing sale on account of Mr E. Eagle, Carterton, on Tuesday. A larce number of buyers were repreeeiite \ and all stock offered was sold at very satisfactory prices. They quote as follows:—Cows to calve at factory dates, from £4 to £8 ss; calves, 20s. Pigs realised a very good figure, bringing up to £6. We also offered a good assortment of farm implements, etc, which cleared at satisfactory prices
Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., report having held a most successful clearing sale on account of Mr Leunard Herrick, Carterton. There was a.very large attendance of settlers from all over the district, and bidding in consequence was very brisk. A good herd of dairy cows came forward, being in the best of condition and all calving to factory dates, the result being that these were very keenly contested for at auction, and good prices were realised all round. The following prices were realised:—Dairy cows, to calve at factory dates, £4 7s 6d, up to the good price of £ll 10s, the cows averaged over £8; bull, £3 12s 6d; brown draught mare, £3l; light draught mare, £26 10s; 4-year gelding £29; 3-year gelding, £24 Is; chestnut ge!d"ing, £35; fillytoal. £9; pigs, sow with litter cf nine, £6 ss. They also offered a large number of farm implements and sundries, and they quitted all lines under the hammer at very satisfactory prices.
