WASTING TIME.
The debate now proceeding In the House has resolved itself into a sheer waste of time. When the division on the amendment by Mr Massey had been taken there was no need to say another word. Yet here wo have the House going on with a discussion which has no more relation to the Financial Statement than to the South Pole expedition. At the end of the session we shall read that the"first part of the session was wasted and that all the most Important measures were driven for consideration into the dying hours of the session, if there was really any desire on the part of the members tojget on with the business of the country in an orderly and decent manner the work could and would be more satisfactorily done. Members are now talking on every d-s
sible and impossible subject, and the spectacle is the opposite of edifying. Of what value ate these wranglinga and personalities in which members now daily indulge. Of what benefit is it to the Dominion to ascertain the views of members on this or that personal delinquency of members of the House?
