NEW SOUTH WALES DRINK BILL
SUBSTANTIAL DECREASE. Received August 1, 11.30 a.m. SYDNEY, August 1, Archdeacon* Boyce the well-known temperance advocate, submits a statement showing that the New South Wales drink bill decreased by £45,900 last year. He attributes the decrease to restrictive legislation. Received August 1, 8.55 p.m. SYDNEY, August 1. The New South Wales Drink Bill last year was £5,317,682, equal to £3 5s 5d per head of the population—a decrease of 2s 2d per head compared with the previous year.
