Saturday. The rronthly meeting of the Wairerapa South County Council waiheld on Saturday Councillor W. Perry presiding. The treasurer reported a credit balance of £Bl5 Is Id, and accounts amounting to £llsl 18 s lid were" passed for payment. Ihe sanitary inspector's report disclosed a satisfactory state of affaire. A report from the ranger showed that 17 horses and 24 head of cattle had been impounded during the month. It was decided to instruct the ranger to include the names of the owners of impounded stock, together with fees collected, in his future reports. The Engineer was instructed to do any necassary gravelling in the vicinity of the Gladstone Hotel. It was decided to have hand railings put up both sides of the bridge approaches on Brooklyn Road. It was resolved to replace a pipe culvert on Park Road with 10ft wooden culvert. The engineer was authorised to put a 12ft groyne in at the Black Bridge on Maungatarere Valley Road to keep the water off the approaches to the ridge. Work on West Taratahi Road was held over till the road was metalled in the spring. It was decided to replace three broken wooden culverts on the Main Road with concrete pipes. Side drains are to be placed along a section of Carter's Road. A man is to be put on Admiral Road for a week to open up the water tables. An application from the Parkvale Dairy Factory to put pipes across the county road was granted, the work to be done to the satisfaction of the engineer. A quantity of routine business was dealt with.
