SHEARERS' TROUBLES.
MR TRIGGS' SUGGESTION.
By Telegraph—Press Assocaition. ' CHRISTOHtmCB, July 25? *?
Mr Tripgs, Conciliation Commissioner, to-day, said he knew nothing of the suggestions he was supposed to have made in regard to the settlement of the shearers dispute. What he suggested was that representatives of the two parties sign a joint requisition to the Minister of Labour requesting him to app->int three commissioners to visit cert in localities to be agreed upon, and ascertain what were fair rates of pay and conditions suitable for a Oumioion award. The Commissioners, as a result of inquiries should file a recommendation to the court, and both parties should enter into a compact in writing to abide by the award, and not take steps during the currency of the award to prevent workers engaging at the prices fixed. " - '
Mr Triggs suggested that ore commissioner be appointed a special commissioner for the occasion, and the other two £as assessois for the parties. This, he said would be in accordance with the Act.
