JACK THE RIPPER.

MELBOURNE, July 25.
The detectives here utterly discredit Dr. Forbes Winslow's "Jack the Riper" theory—that the notorious murderer is a native of Mel bourne, who was educated at Scotch College and returned to gee (New South Wales) on his way to Melborune in 1889, and who is now in South Africa They srate that Dr Winslow's worran correspondent, who asserted that the doctors tracking work hud frightened "Jack the Ripper" into returning to Melbourne, was recently treated for alcoholism.
