Some of the carriages composing the wrecked trains were taken over frona the Hobson's Bay Railway Company, and had been in usa for over forty years. It was these carriages where the loss of life occurred. The modern carriages, which were nearer the engines, leceived a heavier shock, but suffered litt'e; the older carriages collapsed like smashed matchwood.

INJUKED LEAVE THE I HOSPITAL. MELBOURNE, July 19. The Railway Commissioners have appointed a board of experts to cn> quire into the accident, all of whom sat on the board which enquired into the Sunshine disaster. The majority of the injured were ab]e to leav3 the hospital to-day. Only about six serous cases rr* main. Miss Radish, one of the victim-, who is suffering from an injured spine, went through the Suuehine accident, when she was severely in jured. Up to now 387 claims have been received by the commissioners.

ENQUIRIES IN LONDON. Received July 20, 9.10 a.m. LONDON, July 19. Many enquiries are being made in London as to the names nf those injured in the Richmond disaster.
