Lieutenant J G. E. Winslce (active list, unattached) has been awardI ed the Colonial Auxiliary Forces long: service medal. Major C. J. Sanderson, M.R.C.V.S.. and Captain T. G. Palgrave,. M.R.C.V.S., of the JVew ZealandVeterinary Corps, and Lieutenant' W. J. McCracken, of the Raglan Mounted Rifles, have resigned their commissions in the Territorial Force. Mr Chas, W. Isitt, brother <■-i the Revs. F. W. and L. M, Isitt, u well known local preacher, and formerly clerk to the School Eoard for London, is about to take a trip to Mew Zealand.

The Kiwitea County Council has selected Mr H. W. Ca'mpbell as iis new engineer. Mr Campbell is the second son of Mr R, E. M. Campbell, one of the oldest surveyors in the Dominion.

The death is announced of Mr W» Butchings, an old and wideiy respected citizen of Wellington. His Excellency Lord Islington has signified his acceptance of the position of president of the Koyal New Zealand Association of His Majesty's Veterans.

Mr H D, Bel! has now practically recovered from his serious illness. He intends to leave on a trip to Australia and the Islands.

The resignation of Mr Colvin, M.P., as a member of lhe Westpoit Harbour Board, a position which he has held for 23 years, is announced. Mr J. A. C. ivlcEldowney, who is leaving Messrs Sargood, Son, ar.d Ewen, Ltd., after twenty-two years' service, was farewelled by members of the firm and staff yesterday.
