MOTHER AND CHILDREN AS PRISONERS. LOCKED UP FOR FIVE YEARS. Received July 16, 2 10 p.m. ROME, July 15. A demented Italian wine merchant named Kea confined his wife and eleven children for the last fiva years in twelve separate rooms in his country house near Naples. He guarded the prisoners with the utmost vigi!anc3, feeding them on maize, potatoes, eggs, and poultry. Finally, he allowed two of the sons to take a bhort walk in the nighbourhood. They informed the police of their plight, and Rea was arrested. The mother had not seen her children for five years.
