AMUSEMENTS.

"REVENGE." The Allan Hamil on-Max Maxwell Company will stage the above drama at the Masterton Town Hall to-mor-row evening. In this play, though the situations are strongly dramatic, there is no exaggeration in them, and the story unfolds in a natural and quite reasonable manner. Id is not necessary—except to puint the mora] that there is melodrama and melodrama—to deal in detail with the construction of the piece, It has been played by Mr Bland Holt very successfully, and is fairly well known to playgoers. A critic says of the acting, "there were two very noticeable features jn the production of last night—the consistently high standard of acting displayed by all the members of the company, and tfce excellence with which the piece was stagad. In both of these points the performance was immeasurably superior to any production of a similar kind we have seen since Mr Bland Holt." Seats may be reserved without extra charge at Miss Rive's. On Friday evening "Woman and Wine," will be produced.

TOWN HALL PICTURES, The new programme for the Town Hall Pictures was shown last evening, to a satisfactory audience, considering the adverse elements. "The King's Funeral" film was re-produc-ed, by special request. The picturas are to be shown to night in Greytown and on Friday night in Maryborough. A free, matinee and change of programme will be given in Masterton on Saturday. THOMPSON— PICTUKES. The inclemency of the weather did not prevent a large number of patrons attending the Foresters' Hall last night, to witness the second production of the excellent programme of films now being shown. The various pictures were well received, and applause was the order of the evening "The Lifa of Napoleun," was shown in a very faithful manner and was keenly followed by the audience. "The Passage of St. Bernard" in a heavy snowstorm, gives a comprehensive idea of the terrible task Napoleon had undertaken. "The tfanch Owner's Daughter," is a very good dramatic story, showing Indian and cowboy life with great fidelity. The humorous subjects caused great laughter ard interest was shown in the various scenic and industrial pictures This series will be produced for lbs last time this evening, giving place to'an entirely new set of I pictures on Thursday night
