Beddoe* the new Canadian Trade Commissioner tor New Zealand. Interviewed, he said he hoped to extend the relations betweon the two countries. He felt convinced that a large trade could be developed, especially in frozen mutton. He did not regard the drought in Canada as serious, as it would only affect a portion of the country. He epoke hopefully of the prospects of the new mail steamer service.
