WELLINGTON LAND.

At the last meeting of the Wellington Land Board the following applications were dealt with— Mr J. Moriarty applied to transfer section 28, block 5, Mt. Cerberus, to Mr R. Bowie.—Declined. Mr W. J. Cox, lessee of sections 17, and 18, block ,10, Aohanga, applied to transfer the same to Mrs Elizabeth Wagland.—Declined. Mr G. O'Neil attended and asked for a transfer of section 6, block 7, Tararua, Nireaha V.S., to A. Stewart. —It was resolved to recommend the transfer. The following applications were cranted subject to certain conditions :—■ Transfer of section 1 and part cf 6 , block 10, Kaitawa, from estate of the late Mr A. H. F. Thompson and Mr A. N. Thompson, to Mr Robert Stubbing. Transfer of section 11, block 4, Puketoi, from Mr T. Hitchcock, to j Mr Janr.es Wright. Transfer of section 9, block 14, Maungakaretu, Langdale settlement, dxom Mr F. Poulson to Mr J. S. Langdon. Transfer of section 21, block IS, Mangahao, from Mr A. Ockstrom to Mr R. H. Hughes. With reference to the disposal of the money received by the board in trust for the children of Mr A. Jones, the late leasee of section 6a, block 2, Mount Cerberu.--, Mrs Jonos forwarded a request that the money be paid to Mr David Harold, her father, who is now maintaining her family, and it was resolved to approve of this request. Mr Page, cf Eketahuna, attended nnd asked for a transfer of section 35, block 3, Hautapu, from D. Crozier to J. Transom.—lt was resolved to leave it in the Commis-

sioner's hands. The Commissioner submitted a schedule giving particulars of ninetyfive applications for additional land in Puketoi and Mt. Cerberus districts. It was resolvtd to decline the applications of those in schedule B, as their cases do not seem to be necessitous, and to recommend those in schedule A, twenty-.hree in all, be allowed to select, on renewable lease, such areas a? may be determined later in each particular case. Referring to the board's resolution ot May 27th, 1910, the ranger advised that Mr Ewiogton had a suitable milling Bita on his property,— It was resolved that his application for a site of Crown land be declined. A. J. H. Busset applied to transfer the iease of sections 47 and 48, Nireaha Village, to a Mr Watts, and it was resolved to approve on the

usual conditions. The Akitio County Council applied to h ave about four acres taken out of section 3, block 9. Mt, Cerberus survey district, for a gravel reserve. —Approved, subject to survey being carried out by the Council. The Comraiasioner reported that Mr R. 'B. Cade, lessee of section 3, block 4, Mangahao, had now paii up his arrears to date, and it was resolved to rescind the forfeiture of his interest in the section.

A report was receioed from the Crown lands ranker on the non-com-pliance by Mr C. Osborne of the conditions under which he holds section 10, block 4, Hamua, 610 acres, and it was resolved that if he paid up the rental in arrear within fourteen days' time the board would favourably consider granting him further time in which to fully comply with the other conditions. The Commissioner reported that a farther year's rental had not been received on sections 1, 3, 4, and 5, block 1, and 2, Tiffin, and it was resolved that if that amount is not received by the next meeting on the . 28th proximo, the forfeiture will then be proceeded ■with. A report was received from the j Crown lands ranger on Mr G. H. ■ Leache's non-residence on sections , 3 and 4, block 11, Aohanga, and it was resolved to grant six months' time in which to build and reside. The ranger reported that Mrs W. K. Bennett, lessee of section 903, block 14., Rewa, 617 acres, was residing; with her husband on his freehold land about one mile and a half away, and it was resolved to approve j in the meantime ,' It was decided to recommend that ! section 61, block 7, Tararua, Nire- , aha V.S., be re-offered on renewable • lease at a rent calculated on the price ; of £lO per acre, weighted with £49 i 10s for improvements. i A mortgage over section 9, block ; ; 5, Huangarua, Tawaha, settlement, i 210 a, lr, F. S. Hood to W.F.C.A., 1 Ltd., was reported. I It was resolved to call upon Mr A. Packer, lessee of section la, block 2, i Mcunt Cerberus, to show cause-why I his section should not be declared forfeited. It was resolved to rescind the cancellation of Mr F. L. Fnlche»'s w-t-rest in section 15, Pongaroa V S. | It was resolved to recommend a factory Bile on one acra on reserve adjoining sectio- 20, in the Carrington block, to be sole] to the Carrington Creamery Company for £22, the remaining section to be rented to the company at £1 12* per year. The selector of section 16, block 5, Huangarua Tawaba bettlemept, wrote with reference to the rental in arrear, and it was resolved to cali upon him to show cause why his

interest shouli not be forfeited. The Commissioner was authorised to imssue notices of forfeiture to all non-resident settlers in cases where the residential terms are shortly expiring.
