A SERIOUS OFFENCE.

A man named William George Hewison, aged 63 years, who had pleaded guilty at Wairoa to a charge of attempted serious assault, was to-day sentenced by Mr Justice Edwards to seven years imprisonment with bard labour. The prisoner had[ been convictud of a similar offence just thirty years ago.
