OPENING OP THE SSSSIONBy, Telegraph—Frees Association. WELLINGTON, June 28. The third session of the seventeenth Parliament was opened this after- ' noon. The Attorney-Gen-eral in speaking to the motion respecting 'the death *>f the late King, " paid an eloquent tribute "to ? the ser- r vices of, King Edward, '*" * The motion was carried, ail members standing. Motions were also passed expressing regret at the deaths of certain members of the Council. Mr .Scotland congratulated Sir Charles Bowen, the Speaker, upon his Knighthood. On the motion of the AttorneyGeneral, the Council adjourned till Thursday next^ HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. I The House resumed at 3.50, after having adjourned to the Upper House, for the swearing-in ceremony.
