Received June 28, 9.20 a.m. LONDON, June 27. A Protestant mob at Liverpool stoned the carriage of the Roman Catholic Bishop t f Liverpool, the Right Rev. Dr. Whiteside, when he was returning to,Ms p&lace, after laying the corner-stone of St. Alphonso's Chapel. . (Dr. Whiteside fcas been Catholic Bishop of Liverpool since 1894. Ker ligious feeling in Liverpool has run high for some, time, and within the past few months there have b?en several violent calling for the intervention if the police); - -
