THE KNYVETT CASE.
The Knyvett case will come up for discussion in the House during the present session, and the occasion will no doubt produce speeches that will Rive an inkling as to the slate of discipline generally of the military forces in the Dominion. Knyvett may have heartily, deserved dismissal, or he may be a most cruelly wronged man—the trouble about the whole affair is that it has been kept too much in the dark from first to 7 last, consequently the amount of reliable information that, the public are possessed of amount* to very little indeed. The Knyvett ' Defence Committee are asking Parliament that the man, in whose defence they are arrayed, should have "a fresh and a fair trial," and when Parliament considers this petition some light will be thrown on the constitution and powers of military Courts v ln New Zealand.
