ASHtfURTON RESIDENTS' DISCOVERY.

By Telegraph—Press Association, CHKIS'ICHURCH, June 27. Mr George Metcalf, an Ashburton resident, claims to have discovered a substitute for rubber for bicycle ard motor tyres. The substitute is said to be much more endnricg than rubber, and can be produced at a greatly decreased cost. Mr Metcalf will be leaving for London in the course of a few weeks to bring his process before the noiice of capitalists there.
