DARING ROBBERY.
CASHIER CHLOROFORMED. United Press Association—r y E eotric Telegraph Copyright. Received June 27, 9.10 a.m. LONDON, June 26. A daring robbery occurred in the City at noon yesterday. The cashier of a printing firm was returning from a West End bank, and had reached the staircase of the firms premises, when he was chloroformed. The thieves effected their purpose from behind. The cashier fell unconscious, and a bag, in which he was carrying £SO /or wages, was snatched from his hand. The thieves escaped. HOFRICHTER'S SENTENCE j TWENTY YEARS' RIGOROUS IMPRISONMENT. Received June 27, 10 a.m. VIENNA, June 26. Ex-Lieutenant Hofrichter, found guilty of aitempting "to poison brother officers in order to ensure his own promotion, has been sentenced to t.verity years' rigorous imprisonment . He 13 considered responsible for his actions, but his mind is thought to be somewhat diseased. Hofrichter was originally semen- ! ced tobelanged, but it was expected that the court-martial would recommend a commutation, the doctors rnve described the man as morally abnormal.
