Wednesday. ' The weather during the past week has been the worst, experienced lieie this winter, rain falling for the greater part of the week, whila the bills had a considerable coating of snow on them. Building operations on Mr F. (J. H. Cotter's new store, which have bsen suspended oil last week, owing o] the bad weather, have again com- ] menceJ, and a few weekn should see the building complete:.. A good number of men in this district are at present out of work. Mr Ivans, Stock Inspector for S)uth Wairarapi, is at present in thia district. Messrs F. C. H. Cotter, P. Kumrner, and Kng Vermeil, who have been holiday-making n the Eamirc City, returned home on Saturday last, and all are agreed that tt.e trip over the Mangarakis was the wettest they had ever experienced. . Mr A. McGregor, "Hikorangi," who has been tewing in the North Inland, retained home last week.
