BRITISH INCOME TAX AND NON-RESIDENTS.

Sir,—The withd;awa], by the passing of the British Budget for 190910, of the right to claim repayment of British Income, tax so long enjoyed by Colonial, Indian and Foreign re sidents, makes a very serious differ™ enco to them. Permit us to inform them through ihe medium of your columns, while thero is yet time, that ciaima can still be made for the two years ended April sth, 1909, by persons, whether British or Foreign subjects, residing out of the United Kingdom if the income from'the United Kingdom did not exceed .£7OO, although the income from all sources may have exceeded £7OO per annum Claims can ba made in respect of Bank Interest and Life Assurance Premiums paid to Companies lawfully earring on business in the United Kingdom. Claims can also be made by ceitain persona for the years named in respect of Interest or Dividends payable in the United KIUR7 dom on securities of Foieii<n States !or British Possessions, irrespective of the total income.
Claims of the latter class for the year ended April sth, 1910, must be made before October sth, 1910. Persons who are or have been employee! in the service of tin: Crown Missionary Societies, Native St&t a the protectorate of the British Crown: persons resident in the Isle of Man, the Channel and those residing: abroad for their health can claim exemption or abatement if their income from all sources doey not exceed £l6O or £7OO respectively, These claims can be made within tnree years of April sth, 1910. —I
