FOOTBALL.
WAIRARAPA RUGBY UNION.
A meeting of the Wairarapa Rugby Union was he-ld on Saturday night, Mr A. B. Charter in the chair. The sum of £a was received from thß N.Z.R.U., fortne encouragement of school football in the Wairarapa. The New Zealand Referees' Association sent along thß following rale to be adopted forthwith:—"The period of play shall be divided into two or four equal spells." "Throwing the ball in irom line-out so as to alight ac right angles to and at least five ya'ds fr >m .tne touchline." It was decided to keep to the two spells tor the present season A vote of thanks waa passed to Mr Bidwii lor a donation of £2. A'protest was received from the Dalefie'd Club against the win of the Liberal Club on She previous Saturday, and it was derided to lave the | match re-played at Featherst-in on the first Saturday afttr the completion of the first round of junior fixtures. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mr R. Cooper for his handsome donation of a cup thirdclass competition. FIXTURES. The following further senior fixtures were drawn up:--July 2nd. —Carterton v. Greytown, at Carterton. Gladstone v. Red Star, at Gladstone. Julv 16.—Carterton v. Red Star, at Carterton. Greytown v. Gladstone, at Greytown. July 23.—Gladstone v. Carterton, at Gladstone. Greytown v. Red Star, ] at Greytown
