WITH a view to encouraging Observation and Literary Attainment in the young, Messrs Hayward, Clark and Vile ha*-e decided to offer Prizes of 10/6 Every Week for the Best Essay by a Boy or girl under 14 years of agp, on subjects to be announced. The Essays will be judged by an independ9nt committee of competent persons. Any adult patronising the stalls or dress circle of the Town Hall Pictures will be entitled to a slip marked *' Essay," which will enable him or her to nominate a child for the Essay Competition. The child to whom the slip is given will be admitted FREE to the Saturday Afternoon Matinee on the Production of the Slip and an Essay. The name of the winner will be announced every Saturday Might, and the successful boy or girl will not only raceive 10/6 in cash, but will be admitted FREE to the Saturday Matinee for a period of Three Months.
