THREATS OF CIVIL WAR.

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph Copyright, Received June 17, 10.30 p.m. SAN FRANCISCO, June 17 Attorney-General Webb is applying for a permanent injunction in connection with the Johnson-Jeffries light. A temporary injunction against the Kauffmann-Langford fight, arranged for June 18th, is aiso being asked for. If granted, Mr Tex Rickards threatens the Governor and the At-torney-General with a claim for damages regarding the expenditure ineuned by the contestants, who have been assiduously training. Governor Gillette within a week received 200,000 letters from religious bodies, asking him to prevent the fight. The Mayor of San Francisco states: "We mn the city, and intend to ignore the Governor. If Gillette sends the National Guardsmen to prevent the fight, we have a strong body of police." Jeifnes states that he has trained so hard ha wouldn't miss the fight now, even if he had to go to Pretoria for it.
FIGHT TO BE AT RENO, NEVADA. . 1 ON JULY 4. CAUSE OF TROUBLE. Received June 17, 11.30 p.m. k LONDON, June 17. The Times' New York correspondent reports that Governor Gillette's decision is taken in consequence of threats by the religious leaders to deprive San Francisco of a chance of securing the location of the World's Fair of Celebration in connection with the opening of the Panama Canal. It is added, that work at the Amphitheatre has been suspended in San Francisco. Mr Rickards has now abandoned any hope of having the fight in ,San Francisco, and states 'positively that the contest will take "place on July 4th —probably at R-jno. Nevada.
