Messrs Dilgety and Co., Ltd.,- report having held their usual weekly sale at Pahiatua this week, at the Pahiatua Farmers' when they offered a good yarding ol both cattle and sheep advertised numbers, which were well competed for, and areglad to report pnctically a total 1 clearance. They ; , crt that the feeling of the mark* t shows a good upward tendency, which proves that the feed ia holding out in this district, and prices of "all classes of stock is sure to improve. They quote as follows:—Ewes in lamb, 7s to 8a 2d to 7s 9d; lambs, 7s, 7s 3d to 7s 6d; wethers as advertised did not come forward. Cattle.—Cows in calf, £4 ss, £4 10s to £5; heifers, spring calvers £3, £3 5s to £4; empty cows, £2 ss, £2 12s 6d, £2 18s 6d to £3 10s; weaners, 28s, 295, to 31s; picked heifers, out of good cows, 38s. Their next sale will be held next Tuesday, in their Mangahao yards. The New [ Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report on their weekly sale in the P.F.A. yards yesterday :—We had a small yarding of sheep which sold at an advance on previous sales. In cattle we had a full yarding and competition from start to finish was animated, resulting in a clearance of all stock yarded, with the exception of one pen, at prices as follows: —Empty forward ewes, 9s 4d; wethers to 12s 9d; hoggets, 4j to 7s. Cattle.—Weaners £1 [lis; forward cows, £3 to £3 15s; fat cows, £4 9s to £5; 2yr steers, £3 15s; Syr steers, £s]los; dairy heifers, £3 153 to £± 123 6d; dairy cows, £4 to £5.
