MissK. Pattle, at present teaching at Whiteman's Valley, hns been ■ appointed by the Wellington Education Board as sole teacher at the Tauherenikau school. Their passage from the Bluff to Hobart was exceedingly but both Mr ana Mrs Reid are in the bs: 01 health. Mr King O'Malley, Minister fcr Home Affairs in the Commonwealth Ministry, was on May 3rd married ((/Miss Amy Horton, of South Melbourne. The ceremony took place at the residence of the bride's father, | thrpe days after the Fisher Ministry i "" -was sworn in. Until the past few j days not even Mr O'Maliey's colleagues were aware of his marriage. In the Labour notes in the Southland Times the following paragraph appears:—"lt ifJJwhisDeredin Labcur 'Circles that the Hen. J. T. Paul, M.L.C., contemplates resigning from the Upper House before next election, and contesting a Dunt-din seat for the Lower House in the Labour )nterests. It is further said that Mr .J. A. McCullough will be a Labour candidate for one of the Christchurch m- seats. -
