METHODIST FOREIGN MISSIONS.

LECTURE BY REV. W. A HEIGH WAY. •

in the Masterton Methodist Church, last evening, the service wa3 conducted by the Rev. W. A. Heighway, a returned Methodist Missionary from the South Sea Islands, at present on Foreign Mission Deputation work in New Zealand. Mr Heighway delivered an inspiring address on missionary work, and appropriate hymn 3 were sung by thu congregation. In the schoolroom, this evening, the missionary will deliver an illustrated lecture on the prograsi of the Methodist Mission Society's work in the South Seas. Among the various views to be shown by limelight will be a series depicting the destruction wrought by the recent hurricane in the Fiji Islands. These slides have just come to hand, and should prove of exceptional interest, in view of the serious loss suffered by the Society as a result of the recent inrncane. It is estimated that £5,000 wil! be required to repair the damage done to the Methodist Society's property alone. Mr Heighway will deal folly with the details of in the course of his remarks, and being a fluent speaker and [an able lecturer, a large attendance is anticipated.
