Tl:e committee which had put up the second Labour [candidate (Mr Davis) was, he maintained, only u scratch one, and had no authority to take the action it had. Fie complained strongly of Mr T. E. Taylor's interference. In addressing a meeting in tl.e Orange Hall, Newton, to-night, Mr Geo. Davis, the other Labiur candidate, alter speaking for a few rniti- ; uttes, broke down.
