The adjudicator on the three unfinished games in the recent telegraph chess match Masterton Chess Club versus South Wairarapa, gives his decision as follows: —No. 1, win for Black; 2 and 3, drawn. The adjudicator remark? in both these fatter games, that although one side has a distinct advantage, there appears to be nothing decisive." This decision leaves the complete result as follows: — Buard. Masterton, S. Wairarapa. No. 1 Connell 1 Maunsell 0 No. 2W. Kummer h Moore I No. 3G. Jones 1 Koydhouse 0 No. 4J. Dagg 1 Walden 0 No. 5 Winchester & Bladen h No 6 J.Winchester 1 Kidd 0 Hood 1 Roydhouse jr 0 Totals 6 1 The South Wairarapa players, not satisfied with their defeat, at once challenged their opponents to play a return match. This was to have been played last week, but through some hitch at the southern end had to be postponed to Saturday night next. On this occasion the South Wairarapa people propose to put a greater number into the team, and have some hopa of retrieving their laurels, particularly in view of the fact that neither F. Kummer nor Connell will be able to play.
