GERMAN SURVEY.
Received June 8, 10 a.m. COPENHAGEN, June 8. A German squadron has been extensively surveying the Faroe Islands, particularly Vestmanhaven. This has aroused ip the inhabitants some anxiety. The Faroe Islands ("sheep islands") are in the North Sea, and belong to Denmark. Tne inhabitants of the islands are of Norwegian descent; their spoken language is a dialect of the North German, but their written language is Danish.
