It was reported nt la=t evening's meeting of the Borough Council that a case of typhoid fever hat' occurred in the Borcutrb, and the patient had been removed to lhe South Wairarapa Hospital. All other necessary precautions had been taken. The T«ratahi dairy factory closed down this mornirf.?, and Dalelieid wall finish operations on Monday. In the Police Court this morning, befure Justices of the Peace, a man named George Hurly waa ~charced with being drunk and disorderly, and with using obscene language in Bdveriere Street last evening. Accused pleaded that he knew nothing about it, but supposed he was Iguilty. A penalty of one month' 3 imprisonment with h:?rd lahour was imposed. The local Tennis Club have received invitations to the social to be held by the Greytown Club on June 16th. Mr J. Gayfer, until recently with Mr J. Fraser, has commenced business here as a hairdresser ani tobacconist. The local Borough Council decided evening to enforce the by-law in respect to hawkers. Ths members of the local ladies' hockey club were oiu ot u actice this afternoon.
