NATIONAL DAIRY SHOW.
One of the rnoßt interesting phases j of agricultural education ia the sympathetic way in which elementary soil culture ha 3 been develuped in conjunction with the public school curriculum. Especially have the Education Boards of Wellington and Wanganui been prominent in taking up the course that arrests the young idea, and considerable success in school garden work has been achieved under the guidance of the supervisors of the Boards referred to, in conjunction with various masters. The movement has been further assisted in many schools apart from the masters by the interest of School Committees and parents, but the public at large could not have had an opportunity of viewing such practical work for the rising generation were it not tor some means of bringing together exhibits frum many schools. The National Dairy Snow Executive from the inception of the Dairy Show | at Falroerston North have always' displayed a keen desire to further the school garden work and nature study, consequently school garden products have always been prominent Show features till the section now rivals in interest other divisions. School garden products and nature ? study will be an imposing feature at the National Dairy Show next month, in addition to which it embraces Natural History and prizes amounting to some £4O, including a special prize presented by Mr J. E. Nathan, of London, all of which goes to further agricultural education in public schools. The Manawatu Philosophical Society also offer £6 ,6s for Botanical Entomological specimen collections.
