FIRE AND A CAT.
NARROW ESCAPE. By Telrgraph—Press Association. LEVIN. May 31. The Dominbn Private Hotel, better known as Cheeseman's Hotel, was severely damsged early this morning by /fire. The dining-room was gutted, and the kitchen and some benrooms practical I y destroyed. The occupants were alarmed by the furious efforts of a cat to escape through a window. They had barely time to get out of the building uninjured, having to grope their way through dense smoke. Both building and contents are partially insured.
