"Mr T. W. Kirk, of the Agricultural Department, has gone South for a few days. He will he one of the departmental representatives of the Dunedin Winter Show. ~ In the list of those who have recently been admitted as doctors in London appears the name of a native of Wellington. Mr Dnncan Stout, M.R C.S.. andL.R.C.P. Dr Stout is third son of the Chief Justice. The Governor will reach Wellington from Lyttelton by the Maori to-day. In the afternoon KTs Excellency will receive the farewell, presentation frovn th« Freemasons, and in the evening he will he farewelled by the citizens of Wellington. Mr Harold S'»n nf Mr Rodger Owen, prneral manager of the Commercial Union Assurance Company, who has been fourinc? The funeral of the I te Mr Frederick Robert Hills,, who died s riderly during the courre of the St. James-Porpike football match at f he Athletic Park on Saturday afte*nnon, took place yesteiday. A memorial service conducted by the Kev. W. Fancourt in St. Tl omas' Church, Newtown., was largely attended. Among those were members of the St James Football Club, for which a son of the deceased was rjlaving on Salurr'ay when his father died.
