WELLINGTON LAND BOARD.
MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Wellington Land Board wa3 held on Thursday, when there were present: The Commissioner, Mr J. Mackenzie, and Mes3r3 J. Dawson, H. G. Ellingham and J. Geargetti. Amongst the cases dealt with were the following : Mr J. Roberts applied to transfer sections 16 and part 15, bl-ick 5, Makuri, 104 a Or 4p, to Mrs Parker, approval being granted on the usual conditions. Mr J. A. Lawaon's application to transfer sectians 6 snd 7, block 1, Mangahao, to Mr J. P. Whibley, 398 acre?, was approved under the special circumstances of the case. In connection with Mr P. A. Gib son' 3 application to transfer section 2, block 12, Momahaki, 1029 a lr, | to Messrs J. A. and G. E. Littla \ john, it was resolved to obtain a report from the Crown lands ranger. Mr A. Ockerstrom applied to transfer section 21, block 13, Mangahar, 200 a, to Mr R. H. Hughes, ai,d it was resolved to decline the request as resideotal conditions had not been complied with. With reference to the proposed transter of section Id, block 6, Aohanga, 305 a Or 21p, from Mr C. H. Dickens to Mr P. Valois, the solicitors wrote asking that the matter be reconsidered by the Board. This was agreed to, and ihe trar.s fer was approved. With reference to the proposed transfer of section U, Llock 4, Puketoi, 200 a. from Mr T. Hitchcock to Mrs R. M. Robertson, an application was received for reconsideration of the matter. —The Board declined to go back on its previous decision. Mr E. Johns applied for permission to sublet section 22, block 4, Mount Cerberus, 200 a, to Mr W. T. Keddell, and it was resolved to approve on the usual conditions, and provided the terms of the sublease are fair and equitable. Mr J. H. Jennings applied to transfer section 62, Nireaha Village settlement, 54a lr 'S, to Mr RunrielJ. The commissioner advised the board that on March sth lact Mr Jennings' interest in the section had been declsr' ed forfeited for non-compliauca with the conditions of the lease, but that the comfirmation of the forfeiture had been withheld for three month"? time to enable Mr Jennings to comply with the conditions of his lease, but that the confirmation of the forfeiture had been withheld for three months time to enable Mr Jennings to comply with the conditions, —lt was resolved to approve after all conditions are complied with. An application was received from M. H. R.. F. D. JC., and M. G. Hammond, to transfer section 1, block 5, Pukeokahu, 650 acres, to M. H. R, and M. G. Hammond, and it was approved on the usual conditions. Mr J. R. Loney applied to transfer section 19, block 15, Maku-ri, 10 [ acres to Mrs J. Loney, his wifa, and it wa3 resolved to approve on the usual conditions. Mr P. T. tellersu\ applied to transfer section 2, block 11, Aohanga, 200 acres, to Mr A. G. Roberts, and it was resoived to approve under the circumstances provided the ranger's report is satisfactory. Mr W. Sampson applies to transfer section 24, block 4,Mt. Cerberus, 250 acres, to Mr W. H. Gowler, and it was resolved to approve on the usual conditions. The application of Messrs J C. Neilsen and J. C. Petersen tD transfer section 15, block 8, Mt Cerberus, 329 acres, to Mr T. McLean, was approved on the usual condition?. A report was received from he Crown Lands Ranger on Mr J. C. Ewington's application for about 800 acre 3of Crown lands in block 11, Mikimiki S.D., west of section 3, block 11, Mikimiki, 2150 an application from Mr J. A. Nicholson to have the same land allotted (0 him. The boiiid allotted the land to Mr Nicho^on. The Masterton County Council submitted proposals for the expenditure of over accrued thirds. The ranger's report being favourable, the Board ; approved of the proposals, the amount involved being £212 0s Id. • Mr N. J. Daysh, lessee of section ' 7a, blocK 16, Wairarapa, Dyer Settlement, 307 aOr lOp, wrote asking for further, exemption from residence 0 i the section, a3 he pro- , posed to leave New Zealand "or a trip ; in the near future.—lt was resolved to allow him six months' exemption. The commissioner reported that Messrs Benson and Macdonald, lessers of section 17, block 5, Huangarua, had not paid the rental in arrear, and it was resolved to call upon them to show cause why their interest in the section should cot be declared forfeited. It was also reported by the commissioner that one year's rental on sections 1, 3, 4 and 5 in blocks 1 and 2, T/ffin. had been paid as desired by the board, and it was resolved to advise the parties that p 0viderl anuilur year's rent was paid before June 30th, next, trie forfeiture of the selector's interest woulcjk be with held for a further period.
