WELLINGTON WOOL AND SKiN
SALES.
Messrs Levin and Co, Abraham and Williams, Dalgety and Co., and the Mew Zealand Loan and Mercantile report:—We held our fortnightly sale on Friday, There was a good attendance of buyers. WoolPrices were steady, competition being good for the wool offering, which consisted mainly of odd bales of heavy-conditioned crossbreds and a few bales of this season's crutchings. We quote:—Fine crossbreds; 9d to, 10£ d; coarse crossbreds, 7|d to Bsd; lambs wool, 7Jd to 9d; pieces and bellies, 4£d to 6d; locks, 2Jd to 2£d; crutchings, 4d to 6fd. Skins—Very few woolly skins were offering, but we had a fair catalogue of half-wools and short wools, which sold at full prices. We quote —Fine crossbreds, 8d to 9d; medium crossbreds, 7d to B£d; coarse crossbreds, 6d to 7Jd; hogget skins, 6d to Gldj.dead skins, 4d to 6d; lamb skins, 6£d to 7£d; quarter to half wools, 4d to 7d; dry pelts, 2Jd to sjd; green pelts, 3s 6d to 6a sd; lamb pelts, Is 6d to 2s 6d. Tallow —Very firm. Parcels in shipping order, £22 15s: tins, £2O to £24; rough fat, £lO to £l7. Horsehair, Is to Is 4d per lb; horns, 5s to 15s per hundred; cowtails, Is 8d per dozen. Hides were on a par with recent sales values, ox hides being rather firmer. Calfskins were steady at recent values. We quote—ox hides, heavy, 73 to 7§d; ox hides, medium, 7dto7|d;ox hides, light, 6£d to 7Jd; cow hides, 6Jd to 7fd; cut and slippy hides, 4d to 6d; stag hides, 4d tos|d; bull hides, 4d to s£d; •yearlings, 5d to 6|d; calf, best, 7d to 10Jd; calf, medium, 6d to8d; calf, cut and slippy, 5d to 6d. Our next sale will be held on Thursday, June 2nd, 1910.
